The purpose of the HYPERTROPHY training program is to develop as much muscle size as possible. Unlike the Total Fitness POWER or CARDIO program, this program is characterized by much greater work volume for its duration. In other words, there will be heavier weightlifting with a reduction in repetitions for each exercise. The results for this training program will be greater muscle size gains.
This program will benefit those individuals who desire to gain anywhere from 5 to 10 pounds of muscle over a 12 week or more period. Strength gains can also be expected. This prescription highlights a full-body routine with explosive and push-pull exercises as well as core work.
Paring the HYPERTROPHY and POWER training programs and rotating them on opposite days is recommended for elite performance.
